I'm not saying it's bad. It's just. It's Arkanoid. The name pretty much points to the homage. But I got to thinking... Why wouldn't I just play arkanoid? What makes this game better?

Even without tweaking the game. The graphics need work. They don't have personality or consistency. Pick an Idea for the graphics and work around that Idea. Fun and bright? Then why the fatigued metal border? Why the dull colors for the blocks and the ball? Sure they have a glossy feel tp them. But that seems like an afterthought. There were no choices made with the graphics. It looks like you made something and, if you liked it, it stayed with no thought to how it fit in with the other elements. No where is this more appearent than the background. Which is the same value as the foreground. It's hard to visually keep track of the ball.

Pick a theme or an idea and redo the graphics at least. I may seem harsh, but I'm trying to help.

Your sound was waaaaaaaay out of sync. Set sound to streaming. I think this will get blammed in part because your visual punchline comes, again, waaaaaay after the sound cuts off. I couldn't tell if this would be funny synced up. I wasn't that amused. And I should have been. It's a shape wearing lingerie.

That beginning walk sequence is really slow. And your use of sound effects seemed sporadic. Sometimes there was sound for movement. Sometimes there wasn't. Could do with some background music as well. That all said this was a good piece. Well done.

I'm offended by your inability to pronounce words. Bosom. Bo (like 'book without the 'k') som (zem). And the 'dot dot dot' is called and ellipsis. Be less ignorant. Listen, I think the mormon religion is a bunch of crap. But this wasn't clever or funny it was just hateful. Which gets an extra little twist of hypocrisy when add in the christian propaganda at the end.

So while I was watching this I thought. That's amazing work. I never see this kind of effort in the portal. And I thought who is this artist? He needs some props to keep doing this. I guess I assume everything in the portal is done by people just starting out. I saw author: Mindchamber. No wonder it's so good. Everyone big and small goes through the same door.

However there is something going on with your hit tests. part of it might be sonic moving at some off pixel rate. But sometimes he'll be shunted off to either side of a platform if he's not completely on. Also just a touch of the left or right arrow is more than enough to move him from the left side of a block to completely off the right side. This lack of finesse in the controls is a bit frustrating.

The idea itself is not very interesting. I'd like to see you try to make something that is more your own. especially if you're going to invest all the time in actionscripting it.
